Pat Cummins Acknowledges Australia's Defeat to Bangladesh in Historic Test Match

In a surprising outcome, Australia faced a nine-wicket defeat against Bangladesh in the first Test held at Marrara Oval in Darwin. This victory marked Bangladesh's first Test win on Australian soil and their second overall against Australia, following their initial win in 2017.

Australia, after winning the toss and choosing to bat, was dismissed for 198 runs in their first innings. Bangladesh responded strongly, scoring 426 runs and establishing a significant 228-run lead. Although Australia showed improvement in their second innings with a total of 284 runs, including a century from Cameron Green, they could not overcome the deficit. Bangladesh successfully chased down the target in just 14.2 overs.

Pat Cummins, the Australian captain, reflected on the match, acknowledging that his team was outplayed in all aspects. He emphasized the need for better batting performance and noted that the team would analyze their strategy ahead of the upcoming second Test in Mackay, Queensland, scheduled for August 22.
