Patrick Mahomes Set to Play in Season Opener Against Broncos

Patrick Mahomes is expected to take the field for the Kansas City Chiefs in their opening game of the season against the Denver Broncos on September 14, marking the first Monday Night Football game of the year.

Mahomes, who suffered an ACL injury last year, noted that his recovery timeline aligns perfectly with the season opener, as it falls exactly nine months post-injury. He expressed determination to meet this goal, emphasizing his commitment to rigorous training and preparation since his surgery.

Although Mahomes did not participate in the preseason games, he mentioned feeling energized by the team's performances, particularly praising kicker Harrison Butker for a remarkable 69-yard field goal. Mahomes expressed his enthusiasm for returning to the field and enjoying the game with his teammates, which has him looking forward to the upcoming match at Arrowhead Stadium.
