Patriots Face Offensive Line Challenges Ahead of Bears Matchup
The New England Patriots are expected to play without starting guards Ben Brown and Alijah Vera-Tucker during their Thursday night game against the Chicago Bears. Both players sustained injuries in last Sunday's victory over the New York Jets, with Brown suffering a knee injury and Vera-Tucker a hamstring injury.
In addition to the guards, wide receiver Romeo Doubs has been placed on injured reserve due to a shoulder injury. The Patriots, currently with a record of 4-2, have won their last three games but will face a Bears defense that has recorded 17 sacks this season, including five in their recent win against Atlanta.
Chicago's offense, averaging an NFL-best 160.7 rushing yards per game, will also be dealing with injury concerns, as right guard Jonah Jackson and key linebackers T.J. Edwards and Jack Sanborn did not practice recently. New England cornerback Carlton Davis III returned to practice after missing two games due to a neck injury.
