Patriots Lead Jets 17-3 at Halftime
The New England Patriots have taken a 17-3 lead against the New York Jets at halftime in their matchup at Gillette Stadium.
Late in the second quarter, after forcing a Jets punt, the Patriots advanced to the Jets' 9-yard line, aided by a pass to Pop Douglas and a roughing the passer penalty on Jets linebacker David Bailey. Despite two incompletions, quarterback Drake Maye connected with Douglas for a touchdown, increasing the Patriots' lead. New England will receive the ball to start the third quarter.
Maye has not been sacked, even with the loss of two offensive linemen to injuries. Right tackle Morgan Moses and left guard Alijah Vera-Tucker are both questionable to return. The Jets initially scored a field goal and had two additional drives into Patriots territory but failed to convert on fourth down, leading to their 14-point deficit despite holding the ball for nearly twice as long as the Patriots.
