Patriots Place A.J. Brown on Injured Reserve Due to Ankle Injury
The New England Patriots have announced that wide receiver A.J. Brown will be placed on injured reserve due to a high-ankle sprain. This decision comes after Brown sustained the injury during the third quarter of a recent game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Brown is expected to miss a minimum of four weeks, which includes upcoming home games against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Las Vegas Raiders, as well as road games against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills. Before his injury, he had recorded three receptions for 26 yards in the game.
Brown, a three-time Pro Bowler, was acquired by the Patriots from the Philadelphia Eagles in June. He had a successful previous season, totaling 78 receptions for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns. His absence will impact the Patriots' receiving corps, which includes new addition Romeo Doubs and other receivers.
