Patriots Place Punter Bryce Baringer on IR, Sign Mitch Wishnowsky
The New England Patriots will have a new punter for Week 1 after placing Bryce Baringer on injured reserve due to an injury sustained in the final preseason game.
Mitch Wishnowsky, who was released by the Bills, has been signed to the practice squad. Baringer will be eligible to return later in the season but must miss at least the first four games. Additionally, linebacker Khalil Jacobs was also placed on injured reserve.
The team released linebacker K.J. Britt and center Ben Brown, while claiming tight end Cameron Latu and linebacker Darius Muasau off waivers. The Patriots have also added several players to their practice squad, including S Mike Brown and RB Hassan Haskins, following their final roster cuts.
