Patriots Release Two Players Ahead of Preseason Game
The New England Patriots have released running back Terrell Jennings and long snapper Niko Lalos as part of recent roster changes ahead of their second preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles on August 22 at Gillette Stadium.
Jennings, a 25-year-old undrafted free agent from Florida A&M, was waived from injured reserve after being placed there due to an undisclosed injury. He had been with the Patriots since 2024 and was competing for a backup running back position. His release allows him to seek opportunities with other teams once he recovers.
Lalos, who transitioned from defensive end to long snapper, was waived after a brief stint following his re-signing on August 10. His release, along with the placement of guard Andrew Rupcich on injured reserve, has opened up roster spots for new offensive linemen. The Patriots are focusing on refining their roster and preparing for joint practices with the Eagles.
