Patriots Sign DaQuan Jones Following Season Opener Setback

The New England Patriots have announced the signing of defensive tackle DaQuan Jones to a one-year contract worth up to $6 million. This move comes after the team's disappointing performance in their season opener against the Seattle Seahawks, where they faced challenges against the opposing defense.

Jones, a former player for the Buffalo Bills, is expected to provide much-needed depth on the defensive line. He had a productive season last year, recording 22 tackles, three sacks, and one interception. His experience includes playing under Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel during their time together with the Tennessee Titans.

While Jones may not start immediately, he is anticipated to be a key backup, positioned ahead of other players in the rotation. The Patriots are looking to strengthen their defensive front after allowing an average of 4.4 yards per carry in their opener.
