Paul Pogba Set to Leave Monaco Amid Contract Termination Talks
Paul Pogba is anticipated to depart from Monaco as negotiations for a potential contract termination are in progress. The former World Cup champion joined the Ligue 1 team in June 2025 after returning to professional football following a doping suspension.
Pogba signed a two-year contract that was set to last until the end of the upcoming season. However, sources indicate that discussions regarding an early exit are expected to be finalized soon. Monaco has not yet provided any comments on the matter.
His initial season with Monaco was marred by injuries, but there were expectations for him to play more regularly this season. A managerial change, with Filipe Luis taking over from Sebastien Pocognoli, may influence the club's direction in central midfield.
Pogba faced a provisional four-year ban after testing positive for a banned substance in February 2024, following a doping test conducted in August 2023. He claimed the positive result was due to an unknowing intake of a supplement containing the banned substance. The Court of Arbitration for Sport reduced his ban to 18 months, allowing him to return to football in March 2025.
