Paul Stirling to Miss Final Matches of Namibia Series Due to Injury
Paul Stirling, the captain of the Ireland cricket team, will be absent from the last two one-day internationals in Namibia due to a fractured finger sustained while fielding in the third ODI.
The injury occurred during Ireland's loss on Tuesday, which left the team trailing 2-1 in the five-match series. Tim Tector has been named as Stirling's replacement, despite being uncapped in ODIs, although he has played eight T20 matches.
Stirling had previously scored half-centuries in the first two matches of the series, with scores of 56 and 77. Ireland won the opening match on October 22 but faced defeats in the subsequent games by 31 and 63 runs. The series will continue on Friday, with the final match scheduled for Sunday.
