Paul Wight Reflects on His WWE Career Ending Moment
Paul Wight, known as the Big Show, has not competed in the ring since early 2024 and last appeared in WWE in 2020. During a conversation with TMZ Sports, he identified a specific moment when he understood that his time as an in-ring performer with WWE was ending.
This realization occurred during a storyline with Randy Orton in 2020, when Vince McMahon referred to him as Paul instead of his ring name. Wight felt this signified that McMahon no longer viewed him as a wrestling talent, indicating a shift towards ambassador roles.
Despite this change, Wight did not take it personally, recognizing it as a business decision. He left WWE in 2021 and joined AEW, where he has made occasional in-ring appearances but primarily serves as a backstage interviewer and brand ambassador.
