Paulo Costa Urges UFC to Schedule Interim Title Fight
Paulo Costa has raised concerns about the UFC's management of the light heavyweight division, particularly regarding his next fight. After struggling to make weight at 185lbs, he debuted at light heavyweight in April, securing a knockout victory against Azamat Murzakanov at UFC 327.
Following his win, Costa criticized the UFC for delaying his next fight, emphasizing the need for an interim title match. He dismissed rumors of a potential fight against Jiri Prochazka or Magomed Ankalaev, but recently indicated that not scheduling him for the interim title could harm the division.
As the year nears its end, the UFC faces limited opportunities to announce fights with current champions. Prochazka has expressed a desire to compete in the coming months, aiming for a top 5 opponent to move closer to a title shot, with Costa currently ranked fourth in the division.
