Payton Talbott Discusses His 10-Month Hiatus After Cejudo Victory
Payton Talbott took a 10-month break from competition after his significant victory over Henry Cejudo. During a recent media scrum, the bantamweight fighter shared that he intentionally stepped back to focus on personal matters.
Talbott, who has been training and engaging in activities like music and travel, emphasized the importance of keeping certain aspects of life private to maintain their value. He mentioned that he was offered several fights during his time off, but scheduling conflicts prevented them from materializing.
Now, Talbott is set to return to the octagon at UFC 332 on October 3 in Salt Lake City, where he will face former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo, currently ranked No. 11 in the bantamweight division. This matchup presents Talbott with an opportunity to break into the top 15 after a lengthy period of inactivity.
