Pedro Acosta Criticizes MotoGP Tyre Pressure Rules After Indonesian Grand Prix
During the Indonesian Grand Prix, Pedro Acosta criticized MotoGP's tyre pressure rules, claiming they negatively impacted rider performance. The issue arose as Acosta, starting from ninth on the grid, initially passed Marc Marquez for fourth place but later had to relinquish the position due to exceeding the allowable front tyre pressure.
The race saw Acosta and Marquez exchanging positions for several laps, which was described as unappealing for viewers. Their battle allowed Ai Ogura to overtake both riders towards the end, contributing to a strong finish for Aprilia.
This incident followed a similar situation where Jorge Martin lost his lead in the sprint race due to tyre pressure issues. Acosta suggested that minimum tyre pressure requirements should only apply before the race begins, emphasizing that the rules should not dictate race dynamics. He noted that both he and Marquez faced similar challenges during the race.
