Pedro Acosta's Challenge Against Marc Marquez at Aragon GP
Pedro Acosta finished second in the Aragon Grand Prix, closely trailing Marc Marquez, who secured the victory. Acosta, riding for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, managed to advance from sixth to third early in the race and later overtook Bezzecchi on lap 6, maintaining pressure on Marquez for a significant portion of the race.
Despite his efforts, Acosta acknowledged that his KTM was not as competitive as Marquez's Ducati, particularly as Marquez increased his pace on lap 13. Acosta expressed concern about tyre performance, stating that pushing harder could have led to tyre degradation.
Acosta noted improvements in KTM's performance over the past 18 months, particularly regarding tyre wear, and mentioned that he is adapting his riding style to conserve tyres. He also highlighted the need for better qualifying positions, as his average starting place has been sixth, which impacts his race strategy. Following recent engine modifications, Acosta indicated that he did not notice a significant performance change but remains optimistic about future races.
