Pedro Avila Signs Two-Year Extension with SSG Landers

Pedro Avila, a right-handed pitcher, has signed a two-year contract extension with the SSG Landers of the Korea Baseball Organization. He joined the team in July after opting out of his minor-league contract with the Guardians.

During his time with the Landers, Avila achieved an impressive 1.44 ERA over 93 2/3 innings in 14 starts, leading the KBO in ERA and HR/9 rate. His performance stands in contrast to his struggles in affiliated baseball, where he had a 7.50 ERA at Triple-A Columbus.

Avila, who will turn 30 in January, has previously pitched in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball and has a notable track record in the majors. His extension with the Landers allows him to continue his career in the KBO while potentially increasing his earning power for future opportunities in Major League Baseball.
