Pedro Neto Thrives as Wing-Back Under Xabi Alonso at Chelsea

Pedro Neto has excelled in his new wing-back role at Chelsea, mirroring Victor Moses' success a decade ago, scoring twice in a recent match against Everton.

Chelsea's Pedro Neto has found success in a wing-back position under manager Xabi Alonso, reminiscent of Victor Moses' transformation a decade ago. Neto, who joined Chelsea from Wolves for £54 million in 2024, scored twice in a 2-0 victory against Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Initially, Chelsea did not consider Neto untouchable during the summer transfer window, despite a high asking price. The player had expressed frustration after a disappointing season, but he signed a new contract until 2032 after becoming a key figure under Alonso.

Since Alonso's arrival, Neto's performance has significantly improved, with four goals and one assist in nine appearances this season. His contributions include increased defensive responsibilities and a notable rise in offensive metrics, showcasing his versatility and athleticism.
