Penn State Field Hockey Defeats Michigan State 1-0 in Overtime

Penn State field hockey achieved a 1-0 overtime victory against Michigan State on Friday in East Lansing, Michigan, improving their record to 7-4 overall and 2-1 in the Big Ten.

Junior forward Ella Gaitan scored the decisive goal in sudden-death overtime, following a previous overtime win against Lafayette. The match was characterized by a lack of offensive momentum from both teams, with Michigan State failing to register a single shot on goal.

Despite several attempts, neither team scored during regulation, leading to overtime where Gaitan quickly secured the win. Penn State is set to face Kent State next on Sunday at Murphy-Mellis Field in Kent, Ohio.
