Penn State Football Faces Rushing Challenges Ahead of Buffalo Game

Carson Hansen, a transfer from Iowa State, has been the starting running back, accumulating 132 yards on 30 carries without scoring a touchdown. His average of 4.4 yards per carry is decent, but teammate James Peoples Jr. has outperformed him with 4.9 yards on fewer carries. The absence of Quinton Martin Jr. in the last game against Temple, where he did not see any action, has also raised eyebrows.

Offensive coordinator Taylor Mouser acknowledged the need for improvement in play calling and execution. He expressed frustration with the current state of the running game and emphasized the importance of better performance from the offensive line and running backs.
