Penn State Football Faces Third Straight Loss Against USC
Penn State football's season record dropped to .500 after a 31-23 loss to USC during the White Out game on Saturday night, marking the team's third consecutive defeat.
Quarterback Rocco Becht showed improvement, throwing for 309 yards and one touchdown, although he also had some inaccuracies. The running game struggled, with Carson Hansen and James Peoples combining for only 48 yards on 21 carries. Hansen did score a touchdown, but the overall performance was lacking.
Wide receiver Chase Sowell led the team with 95 yards, while tight end Andrew Rappleyea had a notable game with 63 yards and a touchdown. The offensive line provided decent pass protection, but the run game remained ineffective. On defense, linebacker Tony Rojas stood out with a sack and 10 tackles, while the run defense improved, limiting USC to 129 rushing yards. Despite the loss, the team showed some resilience, recovering an onside kick attempt by USC to gain favorable field position.
