Penn State Football Prepares for 2026 Season with New Quarterback Lineup

Penn State's football team is entering the 2026 season with a revamped quarterback lineup, marking a departure from the continuity seen in previous years. Rocco Becht, who has a notable college record, will take the helm as the starting quarterback after transferring from Iowa State.

Becht, originally from Wesley Chapel, Florida, has a career record of 26-13 and ranks second in the FBS for passing yards and touchdowns. Despite facing injuries last season, he is now reportedly healthy and ready to lead the team. Connor Barry, a former Division III quarterback, is expected to serve as the backup after a strong performance in spring practices.

Additionally, the team has three promising freshmen, including four-star recruit Peyton Falzone and Kase Evans, both of whom are expected to develop over the season. Alex Manske, who has experience with Becht at Iowa State, rounds out the group. The Nittany Lions are looking to blend experienced players with new talent as they prepare for the upcoming season.
