Penn State Football Secures Victory Over Temple with Strong Second Half
Penn State football achieved a 2-0 record by defeating Temple 27-9 on Saturday, despite a difficult first half. The initial 30 minutes included a missed field goal by Ryan Barker, a dropped touchdown by Chase Sowell, and a failed 4th-and-goal attempt by Rocco Becht.
The Nittany Lions turned the game around with a 10-play, 83-yard touchdown drive just before halftime, leading to a 27-0 scoring run that extended into the fourth quarter. Penn State scored on each of its final five drives, effectively controlling the game.
Key players included Becht, who connected with Sowell and Benjamin Brahmer for touchdowns, and Tony Rojas, who recorded the team's only turnover. Despite some early struggles, the team demonstrated resilience and strong leadership, which Coach Matt Campbell noted as crucial for their success.
