Penn State Implements Transportation Changes for Fall Semester

Penn State Transportation Services has initiated several updates to its campus transportation system for the fall 2026 semester, as detailed in a recent announcement.

Starting August 14, the Campus Shuttle route via Beaver Avenue will no longer stop at Innovation Park, Mount Nittany Medical Center, and Centre Medical Sciences due to low ridership. However, the shuttle will continue to serve 22 other stops and will operate on weekends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a service break from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

To address the removal of shuttle stops at the medical center, CATA is introducing a Demand Response Hospital service available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., which requires advance booking for medical appointments. Additionally, a new Medical Center Lyft Program will provide students and faculty with up to four $20 Lyft rides per semester to various locations, excluding home football Saturdays. The RIDEpass service will also expand eligibility to include students living on campus and in downtown areas.
