Penn State Student Arrested for Threatening Property Manager with Knife
A 21-year-old Penn State student, Alexa Acevedo, was arrested by State College police for allegedly threatening a property manager with a butcher knife and using a racial slur. The incident occurred at Yugo Echelon on Wednesday morning when the property manager entered Acevedo's apartment with contractors to replace windows.
According to police reports, Acevedo became agitated when an employee entered her apartment earlier to remove blinds. When the property manager arrived, she reportedly yelled a racial slur at him, attempted to damage his laptop, and then retrieved an 8-inch butcher knife, holding it close to his face while pushing him out of the apartment.
Witnesses, including the contractors present, corroborated the property manager's account. Acevedo was arraigned later that day, with bail set at $50,000, and is currently held at the Centre County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 12, and Penn State is reviewing the situation for potential student conduct actions.
