
Penn State Women's Volleyball Loses to Kentucky in Big Ten-SEC Challenge
The No. 13 Penn State women's volleyball team faced its first loss of the season, losing 3-1 to No. 3 Kentucky in the Big Ten-SEC Volleyball Challenge held at Wrigley Field on Sunday night.
Penn State's Kennedy Martin and Whitney Lauenstein led the team with 16 and 13 kills, respectively, while freshman Finley Krystkowiak contributed 10 kills and Alexis Stucky provided 34 assists. The match featured a competitive first set, with both teams exchanging leads before Kentucky secured a 25-23 win.
In the second set, Kentucky maintained its momentum, winning 25-21 despite strong performances from Martin and Krystkowiak. The Nittany Lions rallied in the third set, taking it 25-23, but Kentucky dominated the fourth set, winning 25-15 to clinch the match. Penn State will next compete against DePaul on September 7 in Chicago.
