Penn State Women’s Volleyball Prepares for 2026 Season After Challenging 2025

As the regular season approaches, members of the Penn State women's volleyball team, including coach Katie Schumacher-Cawley, Kennedy Martin, and Caroline Jurevicius, participated in Big Ten Volleyball Media Day in Chicago to discuss the past season and their expectations for 2026.

Following their eighth National Championship in 2024, the Nittany Lions encountered a challenging 2025 season, finishing with a record of 19-13 and a disappointing exit from the NCAA tournament after a first-round victory over South Florida and a loss to Texas.

Key players returning include Kennedy Martin, who had an impressive first season with 634 kills, and Caroline Jurevicius, who has been a vital leader despite injury setbacks. The team is also welcoming new talent, including transfers and freshmen, aiming to improve and build on last year's experiences. The Nittany Lions will kick off their season with a home match against UConn on August 29.
