Pennsylvania Attorney General Responds to Jerry Sandusky Accuser's Recantation

The Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General has reacted to the news that Ryan Rittmeyer, known as Victim 10, is expected to recant his testimony against Jerry Sandusky during a hearing on September 8.

Rittmeyer filed an affidavit in 2025 stating he no longer has a clear memory of being abused by Sandusky, contradicting his earlier claims made during the 2012 trial. He alleged that investigators had pressured him to believe he was a victim and suggested that his memories might be fragmented due to trauma.

Sandusky's legal team has argued that Rittmeyer's recantation highlights issues of suggestive questioning and prosecutorial influence during the original trial. Both Sandusky and Frank Fina, a former prosecutor in the case, are expected to attend the upcoming hearing.
