Pennsylvania Governor Confirms Eagles' Future Stadium Will Stay in Philadelphia

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro stated that the Philadelphia Eagles' future stadium will be located in Philadelphia, following a public practice that attracted 45,000 fans to Lincoln Financial Field.

Shapiro's remarks came as Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie mentioned that the franchise is in an exploratory phase, looking into stadium options both domestically and internationally. The current lease for Lincoln Financial Field is set to expire after the 2032 season, prompting discussions about potential renovations or a new stadium.

While the Eagles have considered various locations, Shapiro emphasized that the team's future home will remain in Philadelphia. He acknowledged the ongoing deliberations within the organization regarding their long-term plans, including the possibility of a stadium with a roof to host major events. Lurie indicated that more concrete decisions could emerge in the next couple of years.
