Penta Advances in WWE World Heavyweight Title Contender Tournament

The WWE tournament to identify the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns commenced on Monday's Raw, featuring Penta's advancement.

Penta, making his WWE Raw debut, triumphed over Laredo Kid in the opening match by executing a Mexican destroyer after Kid missed a move from the top rope. With this win, Penta moves on to the semifinals, where he will compete against the victor of the upcoming match between Psycho Clown and La Parka, scheduled for this Saturday's AAA episode.

Next week's Raw will showcase additional first-round matches, including Dragon Lee versus El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. and Rey Fenix against El Fiscal. Notably, Dragon Lee was sidelined by Big Cass during Monday's show after defeating Dominik Mysterio, which may lead to Mysterio stepping in as a replacement due to his earlier complaints about not being included in the tournament. The tournament champion will face Reigns for the title on September 14 during Raw in Mexico City.
