Pete Crow-Armstrong Hits Walk-Off Homer for Cubs Victory
Pete Crow-Armstrong achieved his first career walk-off home run, a two-run shot in the 10th inning, helping the Chicago Cubs secure a 7-5 victory against the White Sox at Wrigley Field on Monday night.
The All-Star outfielder opened the game with his fifth leadoff homer of the season and concluded it by hitting a 2-1 slider from Hagen Smith deep into the right-field patio area. This marked Crow-Armstrong's 30th home run of the season, bringing him one shy of his career best from the previous year, while also achieving back-to-back 30-30 seasons with 31 stolen bases.
In addition to Crow-Armstrong's performance, Seiya Suzuki also homered for the Cubs. Jacob Webb, who recorded the win, managed to leave the bases loaded in the top of the 10th, setting the stage for Crow-Armstrong's decisive hit. The Cubs ended a two-game losing streak, while the White Sox saw their three-game winning streak come to an end.
