PGA Tour and Retailers Distance Themselves from Good Good Golf Following Controversial Ad
Good Good Golf is experiencing significant fallout after releasing a controversial advertisement promoting its new driver in collaboration with Callaway. The ad featured Alexis Miestowski and Garrett Clark, with Clark knocking Miestowski to the ground while claiming ownership of the driver, which sparked accusations of depicting violence against women.
In response to the backlash, Good Good issued an apology, stating that the video did not align with their brand values and was subsequently removed. CEO Matt Kendrick acknowledged the mistake, explaining that the ad was intended as a spoof of a horror movie but was misinterpreted.
The PGA Tour's CEO, Brian Rolapp, expressed disappointment with Good Good's initial response and indicated that the company's sponsorship of the upcoming Good Good Championship is uncertain. Additionally, retailers such as Golf Galaxy, Dick's Sporting Goods, and PGA Tour Superstore have reportedly removed Good Good products from their stores and websites.
