PGA Tour CEO Confirms No Reinstatement Plans for LIV Golfers
The PGA Tour is maintaining its standards regarding LIV golfers, as confirmed by CEO Brian Rolapp. Despite Brooks Koepka's return through a membership program that required a $5 million charity donation and other conditions, Rolapp has ruled out similar opportunities for others, including Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm.
During a recent press conference, Rolapp addressed speculation about a returning member program, stating there are no current plans for such an initiative. He outlined three key reasons for this stance: the tour's foundation on meritocracy, the necessity of rules for fair competition, and the importance of accountability within the organization.
As the PGA Tour prepares for a new competitive model set to begin in 2028, which includes a relegation and promotion system, the path to earning a PGA Tour card remains challenging. Both Rahm and DeChambeau face significant hurdles, with Rahm recently securing a DP World Tour membership and DeChambeau's LIV contract running through the end of the year. The future of their potential return to the PGA Tour remains uncertain.
