Phil Salt Advocates for Extended Schedule in The Hundred
Welsh Fire captain Phil Salt has suggested that The Hundred competition should be extended by a week, following a grueling schedule where his team played three matches in five days.
During this period, Welsh Fire secured a victory against Birmingham Phoenix and Southern Brave, but suffered a loss to Manchester Super Giants. Salt noted the hectic nature of the schedule, emphasizing the challenges of managing player fatigue.
The Hundred's group stage spans 23 days, allowing teams to play eight games, which Salt believes is insufficient compared to other leagues like the Indian Premier League. He acknowledged the difficulties in adjusting the schedule but reiterated the need for more recovery time for players.
