Philadelphia Eagles Sign Joe Milton from Cowboys Practice Squad
The Philadelphia Eagles have signed quarterback Joe Milton from the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad to enhance their quarterback options while Jalen Hurts is sidelined due to a superficial blood clot.
With Hurts unavailable for Week 6, the Eagles were left with Tanner McKee and Cole Payton as their only quarterbacks on the 53-man roster, prompting the team to seek additional depth. Although veteran Andy Dalton was considered for a short-term role, the Eagles chose Milton instead.
Milton, 26, is entering his third professional season after being drafted by the New England Patriots in 2024. He was traded to the Cowboys in 2025 and later released before being signed to their practice squad. His college career included stints at Michigan and Tennessee, where he showcased his dual-threat capabilities. In limited NFL action, he has played in four games, completing 15 of 24 passes for 183 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.
