Phillies Promote Dan Aucoin and Luke Murton to Assistant General Managers
The Philadelphia Phillies announced several front office promotions, including the elevation of Dan Aucoin and Luke Murton to assistant general manager roles on Thursday afternoon.
Aucoin will serve as the assistant general manager of research/information, having joined the team full-time in 2023 after consulting since the start of the decade. His promotion formalizes his leadership in the research and development area, a position that had been vacant since the departure of Anirudh Kilambi.
Murton, previously the director of player development, has been with the organization for four seasons and will now focus on hitting as the assistant general manager. The Phillies plan to appoint a new farm director in the offseason to accommodate this change. The front office, led by president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski, now includes five executives with AGM titles, including Jorge Velandia, Ned Rice, and Brian Barber.
