Phillip Island to Host Supercars Again from 2027
Phillip Island will remain a significant location for motorsport as Supercars has confirmed its return to the circuit starting in 2027. This announcement comes as MotoGP prepares to host its final Australian Grand Prix at the venue next weekend, marking the end of an era for the iconic circuit.
The Phillip Island circuit has been a staple for MotoGP since 1997, but due to ongoing issues related to access, accommodation, and weather, the championship will relocate the Australian GP to Adelaide, with the first event scheduled for November 2027. Similarly, the World Superbike Championship will also conclude its events at Phillip Island in early 2027 before moving to The Bend Motorsport Park.
Despite concerns about the future of Phillip Island following the departure of these major championships, Supercars has committed to a multi-year agreement to race at the circuit from 2027 to 2031. The series will also include a 'Finals' round during the championship's closing stages, reaffirming the venue's importance in Australian motorsport.
