Pierre Gasly Questions FIA Stewards' Decision on Norris Collision
Pierre Gasly has raised questions about the FIA stewards' ruling that Lando Norris would not be penalized for a collision with Oscar Piastri during the final lap of the sprint race in Singapore. The incident occurred as both McLaren drivers were competing for positions behind Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.
Norris attempted to overtake Piastri at Turn 5, resulting in a collision that sent Piastri into the barriers. While Norris finished the race in eighth place, the stewards later classified the incident as a racing incident, which Gasly found questionable given that he would have earned a point had Norris been penalized.
This situation follows a recent incident in Baku where Franco Colapinto received a grid penalty for crashing into Gasly, raising concerns about the consistency of stewarding decisions. Gasly noted the need for discussions with the stewards regarding teammate collisions, emphasizing that such incidents should be addressed.
