Pierre Gasly Secures Pole Position at Italian Grand Prix

Pierre Gasly, driving for Alpine, claimed pole position at the Italian Grand Prix, edging out George Russell of Mercedes by a margin of 0.060 seconds.

This marks a significant achievement for Gasly, who previously won his only Formula 1 race at Monza in 2020 while racing for Red Bull's junior team. Oscar Piastri from McLaren qualified third, followed by Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton in fourth and fifth places, respectively.

Max Verstappen of Red Bull secured sixth position, while Lando Norris from McLaren finished ninth after a challenging session. Championship leader Kimi Antonelli, also from Mercedes, qualified seventh but will start from the back of the grid due to a penalty for replacing his engine.
