Pierre Gasly's Monaco GP Podium Loss Confirmed by FIA Court

Pierre Gasly, an Alpine Formula 1 driver, has officially lost his podium finish at the Monaco Grand Prix after the FIA's International Court of Appeal upheld penalties for pitlane speeding. The court's decision reinstates the penalties that had previously been rescinded.

During the race, Gasly received two five-second penalties for speeding in the pitlane, which were initially overturned on June 12. However, following appeals from Red Bull and McLaren, the ICA ruled that Gasly's penalties would stand, resulting in his position dropping from third to seventh.

The ICA noted that Alpine could not definitively prove that Gasly had traveled a longer distance in the pitlane than what was inaccurately measured. The FIA expressed its commitment to reviewing its timing system and judicial processes following the ruling.
