Pietro Fittipaldi Targets Hypercar Seat, Rules Out IndyCar Return
Pietro Fittipaldi has announced his intention to pursue a seat in the Hypercar or GTP classes, stepping away from single-seater racing. The Brazilian driver has been active in the LMP2 division, participating in both the IMSA Sportscar Championship and the European Le Mans Series.
Previously, Fittipaldi had considered a return to IndyCar, where his younger brother Enzo is currently leading the Indy NXT championship. However, he has decided to concentrate solely on sportscar racing, stating that his career is focused on this path. He expressed pride in having raced alongside Enzo at Daytona, marking a significant moment for both brothers.
Fittipaldi's aspirations for a move to the top tier of sportscar racing were reignited after competing in the World Endurance Championship with Jota. Although he initially shifted to IndyCar, he is now looking to regain momentum in securing a position in the Hypercar or GTP categories, which he views as his primary goal.
