Pirates Re-Sign Kyler Fedko to Minor League Contract
The Pittsburgh Pirates have re-signed outfielder Kyler Fedko to a two-year minor league contract. Fedko, who is 27 years old, underwent knee surgery in August to repair multiple ligaments and will be focusing on rehabilitation for a significant part of the 2027 season.
Fedko made his major league debut this year with the Minnesota Twins after spending six seasons in the minor leagues. He played 14 games in the Majors, where he recorded two walks and his first RBI, but did not achieve a hit before being sent back to Triple-A St. Paul. At the Triple-A level, he had a strong performance with a batting line of .274/.362/.545 and 17 home runs in 75 games before his injury.
The two-year deal provides Fedko with stability as he recovers, while the Pirates benefit from adding a depth outfielder to their minor league roster. Fedko's journey to the Majors began as a 12th-round pick in 2021, and he aims for a return to the big leagues by 2028, although he currently ranks lower on the depth chart behind several contracted players.
