Pirelli Announces Tire Compounds for Upcoming Races in Baku, Sepang, and Singapore
Pirelli has announced the tire compound selections for the upcoming triple-header of Formula 1 races, which will begin with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix at the end of September and conclude with the Singapore Grand Prix in early October.
For the street circuits in Baku and Singapore, Pirelli has opted for the softest tire compounds: C3 designated as Hard, C4 as Medium, and C5 as Soft. In contrast, the Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang, scheduled from October 2 to 4, will utilize the intermediate compounds C2, C3, and C4.
The Sepang circuit is known for its medium tire stress levels, and the asphalt has not been resurfaced since the last Formula 1 event there in 2017. Pirelli's choice to avoid the hardest compounds aims to minimize the lap time difference between one-stop and two-stop race strategies, promoting a variety of racing tactics.
