
Pirelli Completes Two-Day Tyre Test at Mugello
Pirelli has concluded a two-day tyre test at Mugello, involving teams McLaren, Red Bull, and Audi. The test focused on developing tyres for the 2027 season.
On the first day, Liam Lawson from Red Bull and Oscar Piastri from McLaren tested the hardest tyre compounds, with Lawson completing 116 laps and achieving a best time of 1:22.297. Piastri covered 93 laps, recording a fastest lap of 1:21.358. The track temperature reached 55 degrees Celsius.
The second day featured Lando Norris for McLaren, Ayumu Iwasa for Red Bull, and Nico Hulkenberg for Audi. Norris focused solely on the C2 compound, while Iwasa tested all three compounds, and Hulkenberg split his time between C2 and C3. The drivers completed a total of 1,831 laps over the two days, with the next test scheduled for Imola on September 15 and 16.
