Pittsburgh Steelers Sign Veteran Safety Rayshawn Jenkins

The Pittsburgh Steelers have reached an agreement to sign veteran safety Rayshawn Jenkins, according to multiple reports from Saturday.

Jenkins, who is 32 years old, had a productive season with the Cleveland Browns last year, recording 45 tackles and one interception over 17 games, including three starts. Throughout his career, he has accumulated 562 tackles, 11 interceptions, and four forced fumbles in 139 games, playing for teams such as the Los Angeles Chargers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Seattle Seahawks.

Originally drafted in the fourth round by the Chargers in 2017, Jenkins has also scored two defensive touchdowns, including a pick-six in 2022 and a 102-yard fumble return in 2024. His addition is expected to bolster the Steelers' secondary, providing depth behind starting safeties DeShon Elliott and Jaquan Brisker, as well as fellow newcomer Darnell Savage.
