Evans made his debut in a 2-0 victory over Exeter City in the Carabao Cup, where he had several opportunities to score but was unable to convert. Despite the missed chances, Plymouth secured the win with goals from Alex Hartridge and Bim Pepple in stoppage time, having taken 21 shots in the match.

Manager Tom Cleverley expressed his intention to work on improving Evans' finishing skills, noting that while there are aspects of his game that can be enhanced, he is optimistic about Evans' potential.
