Pol Espargaro to Replace Maverick Vinales at San Marino GP
Maverick Vinales will not participate in the upcoming San Marino Grand Prix as he continues to recover from a shoulder injury. Pol Espargaro will once again take his place on the Tech3 KTM team.
Espargaro has previously competed in the British and Aragon Grands Prix, where he scored points at Silverstone and finished 16th in Aragon. Vinales has struggled with his recovery since suffering the injury during a qualifying crash at Sachsenring last year, leading to surgery in April to remove a screw that was causing complications.
Despite hopes for a return to form after the summer break, Vinales has faced ongoing physical issues and contract disputes with KTM, which may result in his absence for the remainder of the season. Tech3 director Nicolas Goyon expressed support for Vinales while welcoming Espargaro back to the team for the race in Misano.
