Police Investigate Incident Involving Cardiff Defender at Portsmouth Match

Police are looking into an incident involving Cardiff defender Krystian Bielik and a Portsmouth supporter during a Championship match on Saturday, where Portsmouth secured a 2-0 victory.

The altercation occurred late in the second half as Bielik attempted to retrieve a ball from the crowd. Following the incident, Cardiff's head coach Brian Barry-Murphy reported that Bielik was slapped in the face, while social media footage suggested Bielik had grabbed a young fan.

Hampshire Police confirmed they are investigating a reported common assault involving a teenage boy during the match at Fratton Park. In the aftermath, another fan threw a ball at Cardiff defender Perry Ng, leading to both supporters being ejected. Portsmouth's head coach John Mousinho later apologized to Cardiff's players, and the club has urged caution regarding speculation as investigations continue.
