Police Investigate Ongoing Criminal Activity Linked to Sam Rimmer's Murder

Merseyside Police have indicated that a gang believed to be involved in the unsolved murder of Sam Rimmer is still active in the Dingle area, four years after the crime occurred.

Rimmer was shot with a sub-machine gun while visiting friends in Lavrock Bank on August 16, 2022. The police have identified potential suspects and made ten arrests, but they are seeking additional witnesses to advance the investigation. Four men on two bikes are being sought, who were seen in the area shortly before the shooting.

Detective Chief Inspector Steve McGrath stated that the suspects had been circling the area prior to the incident, and they may have used sounds to lure their targets outside. The murder weapon, a Skorpion sub-machine gun, has not been recovered. McGrath emphasized the need for the final piece of information to solve the case, noting that the suspects remain involved in serious criminal activities.
