Porsche Motorsport Confirms Continuation of Penske Program Amid Corporate Changes
Porsche Motorsport Vice President Thomas Laudenbach has confirmed that the two-car Penske program will continue as scheduled, despite major restructuring at Porsche AG. This announcement comes during a time of significant corporate realignment for the automaker.
Laudenbach addressed inquiries about the Porsche Penske Motorsport program, affirming that the IMSA GTP initiative remains on track. This reassurance follows Porsche AG's announcement of a comprehensive investment plan, which includes a €2.1 billion investment in facilities and a reduction of 5,000 jobs by 2035.
While Laudenbach noted that budgets and strategies are under continuous review, he emphasized that core program decisions have not changed. Additionally, he mentioned Porsche's involvement in discussions regarding future regulations for prototype racing, indicating the company's commitment to shaping the sport's direction.
