Port Adelaide's Connor Rozee Discusses Zak Butters' Future and His Own Injury Struggles
Connor Rozee, the captain of Port Adelaide, has indicated that he has spoken with teammate Zak Butters regarding his future as a free agent, but the final decision will be made at the end of the season.
Butters is considering offers from four Victorian clubs: Geelong, Collingwood, Richmond, and the Western Bulldogs, while currently recovering from a syndesmosis injury. He aims to return by Round 24.
Rozee noted that Butters has been clear about wanting to focus on the season's conclusion without distractions. Rozee himself has faced challenges with a serious hamstring injury that has kept him out for most of the season, initially expected to sideline him for three to four months. Further complications revealed nerve damage, leading to a longer recovery process.
